      You can “freeze”/preserve red blood cells by adding glycerol to them which protects the cellular structure-they did this in the Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and we also did it with Bone Marrow in Crumlin. The correct terminology is Cryopreserving-you store the frozen red cells at minus 80 degrees in liquid nitrogen
