During my PhD we were working on the development of new materials for orthopedical implants (a mix of Titanium and Niobium) and we found quite interesting properties, better than the materials that doctors use nowadays. Our compounds were metals that in terms of bio-compatibility and rigidity behave like human bones. Now I work on other materials (Titanium with Nitrogen) that when you keep those under water for a long time they stay clean (without any moss or algae) and hope is going to be also a successful project.
