      I like Brian Cox, he’s a good scientist and a good communicator. I also like Dara O’Briain – he’s one smart cookie, although not a scientist any more, he still talks about his studies.

      It’s very difficult to pick a single amazing scientist – I know many that, although they are not ‘famous’, have done very impressive things. I admire Diana Wall from the Soil and Ecosystem Ecology lab at Colorado State University – she’s done some really interesting work to find out how the creatures in the soil help ecosystems work. She’s done exciting research in places all over the world – even Antarctica.

      Professor Own Smith, working in Crumlin Children’s Hospital is my current idol-he has used many years of expertise to advance treatment of childhood leukaemia and he takes great pride in his work. A very engaging man!
